FA cup Final

Even though Mr Tara Plumbing’s team did not win on Saturday, he still reported a great day out, to the new Wembley Stadium.

Leaving Ramsgate at just after 7am he was on the first train into the Stadium Station, at something after 10 am.  With his father, they reported enjoying the pre-match build-up in the Champagne Bar, before sitting in their ‘club Wembley’ seats for the 3pm kick-off.

I never saw him after breakfast that day, he returned home after midnight.

Am I a football widow?  No, I don’t think so.  Mr T.P. does not watch every match (although sometimes it seems like it!), and when football does have his attention then I have unusual hobbies and interests of my own to indulge in.  I’m sure their aren’t many women who asked for Euclid’s Elements for their 39th birthday! A maths book so old it predates Christianity by hundred of years.

“Euclid’s Elements is the most successful textbook ever written. It was one of the very first works to be printed after the printing press was invented, and is second only to the Bible in number of editions published.

“It was used as the basic text on geometry throughout the Western world for about 2,000 years. … was included in the curriculum of all university students, …Not until the 20th century did it cease to be considered something all educated people had read.”

Pizza & Tara Plumbing Football

Tara Plumbing Football team - the winners 28 April’07I can’t believe I’m writing about the nations favourite sport, yet again.

Two weekends in a row T.P. football team win the cup.  Must be saving up for a full TEA service/ party? I’ll bring the biscuits.  I’m not sure how many cups a team can win in a year - in may be an intimate T 4 2.

I wasn’t at the match.  The Tara Plumbing Family went to the game a week ago and, I think, once a season is enough for me - even then we missed the first half.

You should have seen Mr T.P’s face yesterday.  As Chelsea v Arsnel drew to an end and Manchester United are the Champions.  A Cheshire cat grin, flushed with pride.  Fingers twitching to send gloating text messages to supporter of inferior teams!  Other footie fans and their wives may recognise these symptoms.

The T.P. family decided on a spur of the moment visit to Pizza Express in Ramsgate, we arrived about 7pm, to find they were full!  So we ventured further a field, to our favourite Italian restaurant - Posillipo in Broadstairs.  We had to sit outside, under the biggest red umberalla you have ever seen.  A room outside, with heating! Anyway, I really wasn’t appropriately dressed.  As ever the food was wonderful.  Thank goodness for the fast service too, as I was turning into a frozen ice maiden.

Today, every pore is oozing garlic fumes!

Tara the Ancient Hill in Ireland

The Tara Hill in Ireland has high profile coverage in the national news on the same day as my first blog published here.  Ancient hill - of course, most hills are old what has age got to do with it?  It is significant for its role in Ancient human history.

Mr Tara Plumbing (I’ll just call him T.P. for short) decided to name his plumbing business after this very famous hill almost 20 years ago.  Although, his business is based in Thanet, Kent.

I didn’t know Mr T.P. then, of course.  I’d also never heard of the hill.

Good news, on Saturday Tara Plumbing Football Team won the cup.  Mr T.P. is very keen to support and encourage sport, hence, the sponsorship of this team.

Manchester United lose some football match, today.  It holds no interest for me, I didn’t watch it.  However, it was very significant in our house - it determined whether we have a holiday in Greece in May.  I understand holiday is now off!
