Thanet had it’s own nudist beach, I only found out when reported in the local Paper: Thanet Council has put up signs prohibiting nudity on this seclude beach near Margate. It seems to me the Council are missing a great opportunity: famous nudist beaches near Brighton & Bournemouth have not done any harm in promoting tourism. As these people haven’t spent money on swim-wear, they may have more spare cash left to spend in local hotels, bars and restaurants. There are loads of beaches around this Isle, so I think there is space for naturists.
You will NOT see me exposing my all on the beach. I don’t fancy sand in my nooks and crannies. Furthermore, it stands to reason that if we were supposed to sun-bath nude, then there would not be skin cancer, in fact we would probably be covered in body hair, like Orang-utans and Gorillas. It is just my personal opinion but I do not find that sun-burnt, aged-leathery look to be attractive.
Throughout the summer I keep covered up, dignified. You will see me on Ramsgate Main Sands – factor 20, fully clothed and sitting in the shade. That is only early in the morning and late afternoon, because I go inside through the hottest hours of the day, of course!
Even though I don’t wish to use the nudist beach, I think other people should be able to. I think there is plenty of coastline around Kent, so there should be enough to share. And, as I mentioned, it could actually be beneficial to have a local ‘official’ naturist spot.
